Author Visit

We are so pleased that author Lauren Myracle will be visiting Paideia School on Friday, Sept. 4. Lauren grew up in Atlanta and her sister, author Susan Rebecca White, substituted in the Junior High for a semester several years ago. Because she will be in town to speak at the fabulous Decatur Book Festival, Lauren has graciously agreed to speak at Paideia waiving her usual engagement fee.

Autbor of the hugely popular books Eleven, Twelve, and Thirteen, Lauren's works feature girls dealing with friendships, cliques, changing bodies and family relationships. She will be talking to girls in the upper elementary and junior high. We will have paperback copies of these books for sale during her visit ($7.00 each) but of course there is no purchase obligation; the library owns them all. Parents of elementary girls should know that Lauren has also written several acclaimed novels that are most appropriate for older readers and which we do not recommend for elementary students; the three above are the only ones we will be offering at her talk. We know the girls will be thrilled to meet one of their favorite authors.
