Holidays: Great Recent Picture Books

A grandfather dropped by with the new book that he bought for the library at our donation sale. He had given it in honor of his young grandson. He said, "We loved this book. But I had to have earplugs." His grandson would shriek with delight at every ridiculous eruption in Jack and the Box: A Toon Book, by Art Spiegelman.

Here are some of my favorite recent picture books of the last couple of years for ages 4-7. No gift giving occasion should go by without a new book for a child's collection! You can read more about them in our library catalog
